collezione 1

The Gettysburg Address: a symbolic calligraphy is on display now.

This collection comprises 287 monochrome or grayscale pieces,  each  renders the Gettysburg Address using a  synthetic alphabet of linear, brush-stroked, or painterly symbols. Each calligraphic element maintains correspondence with the  text of the historic speech, but defies the English viewer to assert its readability.

The pieces, grouped in 32 series, show a visual progression from lines, to ribbons, to geometric patterns, to painterly strokes, and finally to brush-like calligraphy. The variations selected for this colezzione explore a small fraction of the generative algorithm parameter space.
